ANZAC Apple Crumble
Ingredients
- 3 apples, peeled, cored and cut into bite sized pieces
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 sprig rosemary
- 1 tsp flour
- For the Crumble
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup Carman's Original Muesli
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 125g butter, melted
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
Method
- Preparation time: 20 minutes
- Cooking time: 25 minutes
- Serves: 2
- Preheat oven to 180C.
- Place the apple, water, sugar, lemon, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and rosemary in a saucepan and simmer for approx 3 minutes until apples are starting to soften.
- Add the flour to thicken the liquid, cooking for approx 1 minute, and then remove from heat.
- Place apple mixture into a deep baking dish.
- In a bowl mix together the crumble ingredients and then sprinkle over the top of the apple mixture.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until crumble is golden and apples are bubbling underneath. Serve with a dollop of your favourite yoghurt!
